Creativity on and off the street

Le Vidéo Paradiso

Le Vidéo Paradiso is an audiovisual/musical studio and school on wheels. Over the État d’Urgence’s six days and with the help of on-board filmmaker tutors, youths are given the opportunity to create short films, videoclips or documentaries on the themes proposed: nomadism, scars, and promiscuity. Five days, three themes, one camera, all serving the urgent need to create and denounce! A public screening of the films produced by the youths will take place outdoors during État d’Urgence’s final evening, Sunday, November 26, at 9 P.M. Come discover the talent out there.

The Red Roof Poets
The Red Roof Poets is a group of men and women passing through St. Michael’s Mission who talk about their itinerancy through the prism of poetry. The group was formed in 2002 (on an impulse of Tamara Prior, a former social worker at St. Michael’s) and meets every Tuesday morning inside the famous church with the red roof (corner President Kennedy and St. Urbain, if you don’t know). The workshop is open to anyone wishing to share his or her experience of the street, of life, of writing... A collection of illustrated poems was published in 2004 and another is on the way!

On November 23 and 24, between 11 P.M. and 3 A.M., they will collectively design and create a large curtain that will serve as the backdrop for the Grand Banquet Cochon!
