WRITING WORKSHOP | SAINT-SAUVEUR
Date and time: Friday, March 1, 5 to 7 p.m.
Location: Local de l'Association des Auteurs des Laurentides (200, rue principale), Saint-Sauveur
African-American author and activist Toni Cade Bambara once shared this magnificent phrase: "the role of the artist is to make revolution irresistible". To do this, it's important to be able to imagine the fruits of it. Laura Doyle Péan, artist in residence at La Montagnarde, invites you to join them in a poetic exploration of a world without gendered violence.
END-OF-RESIDENCY TALK | SAINT-ADOLPHE
Date and time: Saturday, March 9, 2 - 4 pm
Location: Résidence La Montagnarde (251 Chemin des Bouleaux), Saint-Adolphe-d'Howard
Come and visit the La Montagnarde artist residency, which has seen the birth and development of many artistic projects.
The artist-in-residence will present the writing process of their poetry collection toujours, nous nous retrouvons. This project addresses the issue of gendered violence from a feminist, anti-carcenary perspective, in a way that honors the resilience of those who suffer and struggle against such violence, as well as the healing and reparative strategies that can lessen its impact and transform the conditions in which it occurs.
