PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION
Jean-François Lemire 12
For five years now, photographer, reporter and visual storyteller Jean-François Lemire has been presenting facts and observations of everyday life with an engaging, unaffected style all his own. His direct approach and commitment to his subjects impart to his images a quality of familiarity and establish a personal connection with the viewer. He is driven artistically by the desire to document new worlds, as evidenced by his exhibition and “photo documentary” on homelessness produced for État d'Urgence.

Les Déserteurs by Véronique Kingsley and Marie-Ève Bertrand 2
From west to east or east to west, from Vancouver to Montreal and vice-versa, “deserters” are all those living on the fringe of society, many of whom have consciously chosen to desert it. This work endeavours to give voice to these people, to leave a trace of these deserters of the city.

…de l’Urgence by Martin Savoie 14
Le Commensal (1720 rue Saint-Denis), till late December
Official photographer of État d’Urgence since its very inception, Martin can vividly recollect the faces of the event’s past editions and the high and low points through the years. He presents an exhibition of some 20 colour and black-and-white photos taken at État d’Urgence since 2000. These have been chosen for their emotional content and communicate Martin’s deep love of people and places.
